Director of Civil Engineering

About the Role
Fidicix is seeking an accomplished Director of Civil Engineering with at least 15 years of progressive civil engineering and leadership experience to lead complex infrastructure and development projects.
This senior leadership position will oversee engineering strategy, project execution, multidisciplinary teams, technical standards, budgets, schedules, and client-facing delivery. The ideal candidate has successfully managed multiple large-scale projects simultaneously and has extensive experience leading engineers, project managers, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead Fidicix's civil engineering organization and establish engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
* Direct multiple complex civil and infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and completion.
* Provide executive-level technical leadership across site development, infrastructure, utilities, transportation, drainage, grading, and related civil engineering disciplines.
* Manage project portfolios, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and overall project performance.
* Build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering and project management teams.
* Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, plans, specifications, and technical deliverables.
* Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, consultants, government agencies, developers, and other stakeholders.
* Ensure projects comply with applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, permitting requirements, and engineering standards.
* Identify project risks and develop practical technical and operational solutions.
* Support business development, project proposals, client presentations, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
* Establish KPIs and reporting systems to improve project delivery, engineering quality, cost control, and operational efficiency.
* Advise executive leadership on engineering strategy, capital projects, infrastructure development, and long-term growth initiatives.
Qualifications
* 15+ years of professional civil engineering experience required.
* Significant experience in a Director, Engineering Manager, Senior Project Manager, Principal Engineer, VP Engineering, or comparable leadership role
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline required; Master's degree preferred.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
* Proven experience managing multiple large and complex projects simultaneously.
* Strong background in project budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and technical oversight.
* Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Strong knowledge of civil engineering design, construction practices, permitting, codes, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience working with major infrastructure, commercial, industrial, energy, data center, transportation, or large-scale development projects is highly desirable.
* Excellent executive communication, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
* Ability to operate effectively in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation & Benefits
*Base Salary: $220,000–$260,000 per year
